Lockyer Valley– “Return the Favour”

Phoenix Power Recyclers have teamed up with farmers from the Lockyer Valley and continued trials on our Prescription Compost-PC100. By implementing sustainable farming practices utilising natural alternatives, as opposed to artificial fertilisers, has identified an increased demand for organically grown products. Recent trials conducted by the CSIRO have demonstrated that using compost in vineyards has increased yields by over 33%. In a six month trial, rootlings had doubled in size and maturity compared with uncomposted crops. Added benefits of mulching around crops found that stress levels were reduced and farmers could maintain production and quality, without the dependence on irrigation. Trials will compare the benefits of composting on various other fruit and vegetable plants

Schools- Public Awareness

Phoenix Power teamed up with Integrated Landscapes at Banora Point State High School where the onus was on soil conditioning and protection. Our Prescribed Compost– PC100 was used to rejuvenate the existing soil, while our Forest Fines promoted water retention and protection from the weather.
